Sunbelt Supply is a global provider of flow control solutions. We maintain one of the largest and most diversified selections of valves, actuators, actuation accessories and specialty PFF in North America, comprised of more than 50 major manufacturers. Sunbelt Supply is a subsidiary of FloWorks International LLC, which is a privately held company located in Pasadena, Texas.

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of various processes, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across all operational functions. This role includes managing personnel, optimizing processes, and maintaining compliance with both internal and external standards. The Operations Manager will also be responsible for supporting audits, driving process improvements, and ensuring the overall operational success of the company.

Some of the exciting things you will do in this role...

  • Facilitate and drive the development of operational processes and procedural efficiencies.

  • Oversee continual review and refinement of existing operational procedures to enhance performance.

  • Implement and monitor Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best practices.

  • Identify and analyze issues affecting operational areas, including inventory, freight, receiving, and shipping.

  • Create, analyze, and distribute operational reports, providing data-driven insights to management.

  • Collaborate with teams from Finance, Sales, HR, IT, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.

  • Ensure communication and process alignment between internal teams and external stakeholders.

  • Provide technical support within field service and automation as needed.

  • Lead and coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with Sarbanes Oxley, acquisition integrations, and other regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain and track safety certifications, coordinating with the safety coordinator and shop/field managers to ensure all safety training requirements are met.

  • Oversee vehicle records, registrations, insurance documentation, and renewals.

  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date vehicle records for operations and compliance.

  • Manage DOT compliance, including medical certificates, driver records, and screenings.

  • Coordinate training sessions for MSHA/OSHA/FPP/contractor-specific safety needs.

  • Monitor employee safety training schedules and certifications, working to ensure all necessary certifications are up-to-date.

  • Track all safety-related records, certifications, and training needs.

  • Organize required offsite safety training (MSHA/OSHA/FPP/Contractor-specific) for the team.

  • Provide operational guidance and goals to warehouse, shop, and field teams.

  • Assist in inventory management, including cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and ensuring accuracy.

  • Offer support with receiving, shipping, and warehouse operations when needed.

  • Assist in the completion of Capex requests, audit reviews, and other operational documentation.

  • Prepare monthly reports, including labor, overtime, shop sales, and ADP timecard approvals.

  • Review and approve operations expense requests.

  • Monitor and manage operational performance metrics.

  • Assist in the recruitment and hiring process for new team members.

  • Manage employee performance reviews, feedback, and disciplinary actions.

  • Conduct Feedforward reviews and ensure employee development and growth.

A must...

  • Typically requires a BS/BA in related discipline. Generally 7+ years experience in related fields. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.

  • Proven experience in operations management, preferably in a manufacturing, logistics, or similar industry.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to drive performance and improve processes.

  • Experience with process development, training, and procedural implementation.

  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance, including Sarbanes Oxley, DOT, and safety standards.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to create and interpret operational reports.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across departments.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other reporting tools.

  • Ability to adapt to changing demands and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Environmental Job Requirements...

  • Office and operational facility environment, with occasional offsite responsibilities.

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

  • Typically requires overnight travel 10% to 30% of the time.
