Basic Qualifications

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.


Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Quality Engineer. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

GDMS has an immediate opening for a Quality Engineer to join our Mission Assurance Team responsible for overseeing the production and test of high-assurance, mission-critical electronics hardware.

The selected candidate will be a key quality assurance representative for our mission critical programs. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of quality assurance while working with our Integrated Product Teams to collaborate and manage the ongoing production build and test activities for a diverse range of complex circuit card assemblies and mission computers. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

  • Identifies inspection requirements based on technical documentation
  • Analyzes and dispositions non-conformances
  • Conducts root cause analysis and establishes and implements corrective actions
  • Monitors product and process performance for trends and addresses
  • Implements continual improvement
  • Travel may be required

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & ABILITIES:

Knowledge, experience, and skills in the following areas:

  • Education in Mechanical and/ or electrical technologies
  • Quality Assurance mind-set
  • Experience working to Quality Management Systems policies and procedures a bonus
  • Outstanding communication skills to work proactively with a project team
  • Ability to interpret drawings and review documents, drawings and instructions for conformance to requirements techniques
  • Ability to clearly recognize and report information relevant to sound quality engineering design
  • Strong "Can-do" attitude
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking skills and demonstrated application
  • Skills to review relevant inspection/measurement tools and techniques


Target salary range: USD $67,600.00/Yr. - USD $75,000.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
