ANAB operates various international accreditation programs whereby certification bodies are accredited using international standards (e.g., ISO), regulatory (e.g., FDA), and industry-owned schemes (e.g., GLOBALG.A.P).

We are currently looking for a professional with comprehensive client and accounting management experience including administrative skills to fill the position of Assistant Accountant.Assistant Accountants are key to orchestrating our customer support including managing various responsibilities and process flow (e.g., application processing, assessment scheduling, assessment deliverable processing, maintaining records including database entry, accounts payable and receivable) to support our clients for them to remain in good standing with multiple requirements. This position interfaces with clients, assessors, committee members, and other staff to coordinate the delivery of accreditation and assessment services. The assistant accountant's role must juggle various responsibilities within assigned timelines, requirements, and customer support, with an understanding and care of the importance of maintaining a balance.

This position will be based out of our Fort Wayne IN office.

Essential Functions: The primary responsibility of this position is to support the accounting process by coordinating accounting activity between clients, staff, and assessors.

  • Review accounts payable items for accuracy and input into accounting system for payment.

  • Review assessor invoices for accuracy, verify that all necessary documents are provided, and process for payment.

  • Follow up to ensure timely payments for accounts payables.

  • Invoice clients.

  • Follow up on accounts receivable past due items.

  • May process payments and apply to customer accounts.

  • Submit adjustments for review with support and analysis for authorization and subsequent entry.

  • Maintain documented processes and/or procedures and recommend and implement process improvements.

  • Assist with monthly forecasting and the yearly budgeting process.

  • Serve as liaison between the client, assessors, ANAB staff, and ANSI financial staff.

  • Perform special projects, which may require creating reports, schedules, and other financial information as required.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

  • Knowledge of applicable ANAB accreditation rules and processes, scheme requirements and relevant guidance and application documents.

    • Appropriate level of understanding of the business, third-party accredited conformity assessment system and value-added assessment services, including personnel involved in the process, outside influencers, etc.

    • Understanding of quality principles, continuous learning, customer focus and service, and teamwork and partnering skills.

  • Technical skills

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

    • Proficient keyboarding skills.

    • Proficient with ANAB platforms.

  • Problem Solving: Ability to identify and address operational process problems and opportunities.

  • Autonomy: Fulfills responsibilities with reasonable oversight under the direction of a Senior Coordinator of Operations or above.

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree required. An associate degree and 2+ years of experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree. High School diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of experience may substitute for a degree.
