Data Analyst Summer Internship, Internal Audit

We are seeking a talented and motivated Data Analytics Summer Intern to join our innovative team in Chicago. Working directly with the Director of Innovation and Data Analytics, you'll contribute to our digital transformation efforts and help shape the future of data-driven auditing at JLL.

Program Details

  • Dates: June 2, 2025 - August 8, 2025 (10 weeks)

  • Location: Chicago, IL

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business and technical subject matter experts to develop clear requirements for improving analytical and operational processes.

  • Gather, clean, and analyze large datasets from diverse sources across on-premises and cloud environments.

  • Create compelling data visualizations and "data stories" to communicate insights to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Assist in updating data models, reports, and dashboards used in audit planning and execution.

  • Support technology audit teams with data needs for ongoing engagements.

  • Identify and propose new automation opportunities to enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of our data analytics strategy, including the use of AI and machine learning in audit processes.

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) models for domain-specific knowledge in audits.

  • Help implement and test automation opportunities to enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation and analysis.

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Python).

  • Demonstrated knowledge of data processing, data visualization, and using data to tell a story.

  • Experience with Jupyter notebooks for data analysis and visualization.

  • Ability to translate complex analytical findings into actionable insights for various audiences.

  • Keen attention to detail and commitment to data quality.

  • Self-motivated learner with a passion for emerging technologies and data science applications.

Education & Experience

  • Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in data science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related STEM field

  • Minimum of 3 years completed towards bachelor's degree.

  • Previous internship or project experience applying data analytics in a business context.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office desktop tools (Word, Excel, etc.).

  • Familiarity with audit processes and risk management concepts (a plus).

  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques and their practical applications.

  • Experience with Alteryx, Databricks, or other advanced analytics platforms is preferred.

Estimated total compensation for this position:

8,800.00 - 10,000.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
