Role Summary

The Project Coordinator, Commercial Construction supports key functions of Design, Preconstruction and Construction, and shall support facilities development projects to ensure all administrative, contractual and owner vendor procurement of multiple projects are being executed, as required. Facilities associated with this role will focus on the Commercial Sales and Service network.

The primary function of the Coordinator is to support the Development Team critical functions of design, preconstruction, construction and project closeout and report to the Sr. Analyst, Centralized Preconstruction + Cost Controls, Commercial Development. The Coordinator will support program wide initiatives, reporting and project specific requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Support the project execution teams to assist in ensuring schedule and budget excellence.
  • Coordinate with vendors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution for all owner supplied materials and vendors.
  • Lead vendor support to ensure new vendors are correctly enrolled and trained in project management software ACC.
  • Coordinate regular vendor meetings to confirm key project information and ensure deliveries match the project schedule.
  • Work closely with finance and project teams to facilitate the approval process for vendor invoices and purchase orders.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing department to align procurement strategies with project needs to support project schedules
  • Assist in coordinating site activities, including logistics for on-site deliveries supporting damage or delay claims
  • Organize and host meetings with regional teams, documenting minutes and action items.
  • Monitor and track expenses related to vendor services and material procurement
  • Assist in project closeout documentation ensuring timely and complete submission to company standards
  • Lead projects "the Rivian way," providing professional influence on the work exemplifying respect, leadership, commitment, vision and teamwork.
  • Plan, coordinate, and support the execution of complex, fast-paced and/or unorthodox construction projects.
  • Risk management as it pertains to contracting best practices with designers, contractors, and material suppliers.
  • Support multiple projects and issues effectively.
  • Knowledge of engineering, drawings and specifications and general building code.
  • Proven critical-thinker and problem-solver.
  • Possesses written and oral communication skills to support decisions and recommendations.
  • Proficiency in project management software tools and Google Suite.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or construction/project management is preferred; experience in other relevant fields of complexity will also be considered.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience is preferred.
  • The physical demands associated with the duties and responsibilities described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform this job.
  • This includes the ability to spend extended hours walking construction sites and traveling to different project sites and offices.
  • Occasional visits to job site locations, and attendance meetings at multiple offices should be expected.
  • Exposure to outdoors, dust, high noise levels, hot and cold weather is likely. Wearing personal protective equipment is mandatory.

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for El Segundo, CA based applicants: $77,000 - $97,000 annually (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time and part-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Full Time Employee coverage is effective on the first day of employment. Part-Time employee coverage is effective the first of the month following 90 days of employment.
