Role: Community and Corporate Relationships Coordinator

Reports to: Community and Corporate Relationships Manager (CCRM)

Department: Development

Location: Arlington Administration, 2116 Arlington Ave, Suite 100, Los Angeles, CA 90018

Setting: Onsite

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5pm

Status: Full-time/Non-Exempt/Non-Management

SUMMARY:

As a core member of the Development Team, the Community and Corporate Relationships Coordinator will report to the Community and Corporate Relationships Manager (CCRM) and will also take direction from the Director of Development and the Chief Executive Officer. They will be responsible for helping to build and strengthen community and corporate support for The People Concern, as well as assist in the planning and execution of agency events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Community & Corporate Relationship Building



  • Participate in community & corporate relationship building opportunities with 3rd parties to raise funds and brand awareness as well as in-kind donations (ex. % of sales and product donations) in partnership with Group Volunteer Coordinator

    • Coordinate start to finish where necessary


  • Seek out and initiate contact with new/prospective community and corporate partners in partnership with Group Volunteer Coordinator
  • Host lunch and learn presentations and relationship building activities with new/prospect community and corporate partners
  • Participate in volunteer and community events, including planning and preparation, which will include some weekend and evening activities
  • Work in concert with Communications and Volunteer Relationships colleagues to promote community and corporate events as appropriate.
  • Complete administrative duties related to Community and Corporate Relationships, including entering relevant data into donor and volunteer databases, email follow ups and thank you letters (where needed)
  • Review and research planned attendee lists for all corporate and community group activities and provide findings to CCRM prior to the activity
  • Conduct agency-wide tours with prospective supporters and volunteers, involving other Individual Relationships Officers, Community & Corporate Relationships staff, and/or Development Leadership as appropriate.


Event Production



  • Coordinate new and existing agency fundraising and non-fundraising events including stewardship and cultivation events
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and venues as well as program sites and leadership
  • Coordinate and monitor event timelines and ensure deadlines are met
  • Execute event program including taking the lead in "Run of Show"

Qualifications:



  • A passion for connecting philanthropists with high impact opportunities to help the most vulnerable in their communities
  • Detail oriented with strong time management, organizational, written, verbal, interpersonal, and computer skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Computer literate; able to effectively use computerized database, with demonstrable skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel programs
  • Proficient in the use of the Internet and social media tools
  • Valid CA Driver's license, reliable transportation, auto insurance, and an acceptable driving record
  • Able to work some evenings and weekends for special events and meetings as requested
  • Able to travel between Westside and downtown Los Angeles as work requires
  • Familiarity with Raiser's Edge, Volgistics, and/or other donor management system preferred



Work Environment:



  • Combination of field and office environment
  • Travel between agency locations, and external locations, up to 75%.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend; occasionally lift or carry up to 35 lbs.
  • On occasion walk or drive to different local sites
  • Will necessitate working in busy and loud environments
  • Will be exposed to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise and odor
  • May need to bend, stoop, twist, and sit throughout the day
