DBS supports Dover's Operating Companies through the processing of select financial and transactional processes and provides HR and IT support. DBS operates shared service centers in China, North America, the Philippines and Scotland. Overall Scope/Accountabilities
- Support to Fibrelite Value Stream/Product Lines
- With Minimal supervision, provide cross-functional support to Product Management, Purchasing, Quality, Production, Customer Service and Manufacturing Engineering with engineering, design, materials, information, component and product technical expertise in achieving team goals with design, performance, cost and manufacturability targets.
Responsibilities
- Support product improvements/enhancements and new product development projects through Siemens NX 3D modeling and CAD.
- Support best-practice engineering information flow process with Teamcenter documentation management/maintenance system.
- Support MRP inventory/material product BOM maintenance in Oracle.
- Use of design change process to ensure the proposed changes are systematically and thoroughly analyzed before beginning the change processes. When product changes are proposed, justification is written, or data is collected to verify the design intent is still met.
- Work collaboratively with manufacturing re-design/modify products for manufacturability and to reduce product costs through design or process improvements.
- Maintain product performance through Quality Investigations and ensuring rigorous support for design change.
- Works independently to plan and schedule own activities necessary to meet timelines.
- Designs and coordinates standard engineering tests and experiments.
- Performs troubleshooting on products/process problems as related to design, material or process.
- Summarizes, analyzes, and draws conclusion from test results.
- Prepares standard reports/documentation to communicate results to engineering/technical teams.
- Responsible for engineering documentation.
- Creates/designs concepts and designs for improvements on products/processes.
- Works cross-functionally with project management, quality, manufacturing to ensure product success.
- Support integration of new product launch.
- Other activities as identified by management.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
- 3D / 2D CAD experience (experience with Siemens NX & Teamcenter would be a plus)
- Knowledge of engineering drawings and bills of material (experience with Oracle a plus)
- Ability to create/make product design changes
- GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Mechanical aptitude
- Continuous Improvement philosophy
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
