Buckeye Partners is currently seeking an IT Analyst II to join our team!

Role Summary:

The IT Analyst II role performs or monitors activities and projects related to the operation, integration, implementation, upgrade, and/or changes to Buckeye's Pipeline Scheduling Application.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions include:



  • Lead training, troubleshooting, support and documentation for the Pipeline Scheduling applications (3rd party vendor software in a client-server environment).
  • Plan the testing of scheduling system application upgrades prior to releasing to the Scheduling group. Provide recommendations for scheduling system application upgrades and enhancements.
  • Work with and communicate to IT peers, IT management, Operations staff, and Operations management as needed.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending professional workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies. Provide technical knowledge to co-workers for problem solving.
  • Perform and manage the maintenance of the pipeline scheduling application's data and databases.
  • Develop and maintain configuration files for scheduling application and the customer facing portal, Transport4 (T4).
  • Provide documentation for all supported applications. Ensure documentation is current.
  • Act as resource for various projects related to Buckeye's pipeline scheduling systems.
  • Provide on-call support during non-business hours to Operations on an as needed basis.
  • And other duties as assigned



Position Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technologies or related discipline OR equivalent experience required.


  • 5+ years related experience in software application support and troubleshooting is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of pipeline terminology and operations is required to be obtain in short order.
  • Microsoft Excel VBA programming experience preferred.
  • Microsoft SQL experience a plus.

  • This position requires good analytical skills to resolve technical and business issues.
  • Persons in this position are asked to respond to system issues immediately and requires someone who has the ability to meet stringent deadlines and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • The individual must be able to work in a team-oriented environment and interact on numerous concepts at various levels of the end-user community.
  • This position requires good oral and written communication skills.

  • This position requires the ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and or/quantitative productivity standards.
  • This role requires the ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • This position requires compliance with all personnel policies.



Physical & Safety Requirements:



  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc.
  • This role continuously operates a computer and other office productivity equipment (i.e. a calculator, copy machine and computer printer).
