Staffing Associate DON

Department: Nursing- Resource Management- RN Float Pool

Status: Full Time, 40 hours per week

Schedule: Monday - Friday with rotating weekend; Day Shift

Job Summary:

MedStar Health is looking for a Staffing Associate DON to join our team at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center!

This position manages staffing functions for all Patient Care Units, ensuring accurate staffing levels and maintaining schedules. The role also involves daily payroll edits, Clairvia updates, and communication with various nursing staff to address staffing needs. Reports to the Director of Nursing Resources & Capacity Management.

Primary Duties:

* Coordinate staffing for Patient Care Units.

* Troubleshoot staffing issues as needed.

* Input and maintain accurate staff schedules.

* Edit changes in MyTime and review schedules for accuracy.

* Maintain census and schedule updates in Clairvia.

* Cover call-outs and arrange additional staffing as required.

* Communicate with clinical and nursing staff to ensure adequate staffing levels.

* Track absenteeism and time-off issues.

* Answer phone calls and communicate staffing changes to shifts.

* Assist with job duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or GED, Required.

* 1-3 years of relevant office experience required, payroll/scheduling experience, preferred.
