Position Summary: The Planner develops and maintains accurate demand forecasts and supply planning with vendors using historical sales data, market trends, and promotional activities. This role requires monitoring inventory levels across all sales channels to ensure alignment with demand forecasts, maintaining optimal stock levels to meet customer needs while minimizing excess inventory costs. Collaboration with sales, marketing, production, and supply chain teams is essential to align forecasts with business plans and address demand-related issues. Additionally, the role involves working with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolving supply chain issues, as well as participating in supply chain optimization projects and product launches.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)

* Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using historical sales data, market trends, and promotional activities. Including supporting new product launches and legacy items.

* Collaborate with sales, marketing, production and logistics teams to align forecasts with business goals.

* Analyze sales patterns and external factors to anticipate changes in demand.

* Monitor inventory levels across all sales channels to ensure alignment with demand forecasts and maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing excess inventory costs.

* Utilize data-driven insights and key performance metrics to provide regular updates on demand trends, inventory status, and supply chain risks.

* Identify opportunities for process improvements in forecasting, inventory management, and ordering.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.



Qualifications

Education and Experience:

* Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience) and proven Microsoft Office skills.

* Proven experience (5 years) in demand and supply planning, procurement, or supply chain management within the retails industry, preferably in home furnishings.

* Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Special Requirements:

* Occasional weekend work as required to meet business needs.

Location: Aurora, NY area.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.

* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with internal teams and external vendors.

Equipment Used: Computer, printer, scanner, telephone, and photocopier.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

* Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, push, pull, crouch, kneel, bend, climb, use fingers to grasp, handle, feel, and perform repetitive motions of hands or wrists.

* Light mental and visual attention is required for performing work where there is some variety, but actions taken and decisions made are limited to few possibilities. Work requires some coordination with others.
