Job Summary and Responsibilities

Summary: A RF Engineer is a professional who specializes in designing, developing, and testing radio frequency (RF) systems and components. RF engineers work with various communication systems, including cellular networks, satellite systems, and wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Under the guidance of senior engineers, RF Engineers will assist in the design, development, testing, and troubleshooting of RF systems and components. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in RF technology while contributing to the innovation and success of our projects.

A RF Engineer I (RF 1) must have a strong understanding of RF principles, such as frequency, modulation, and noise. Must also have a deep knowledge of antenna theory, microwave transmission, and propagation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Configure drive test date collection equipment according to engineer parameters
  • Perform Data collection for Samsung on CDMA, LTE 3G and 4G, 5G network Perform calibration, verification and live drive testing of E-911 service
  • Plot sites and drive test routes utilizing DeLorme Street Atlas for navigation Execute cluster drives and re-drives tests, stationary tests and speed tests
  • Successfully execute Acceptance Test Performance (ATP) drive test, monitored handovers, and Speed test for base stations and customer locations and documented test results
  • Verify the diversity and the main branch for new sites on air
  • Check for poor coverage and cell interference
  • Verify overshooting sectors and recommending electoral down-tilt
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting for XCAL, scanner(s), devices, and document test results
  • Analyze and recommended neighbor List/ Parameter changes based on MapInfo plots
  • Upload all data collected (daily) and process XCAL files in XCAP
  • Additional testing procedures as required based on project

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and/or QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in the wireless telecommunications industry
  • General understanding and or working knowledge in one or more of the following platforms and/or technologies: CDMA, EVDO, LTE, VoLTE
  • Operating Systems and applications including: UNIX, Windows, MS Office
  • Data Collection Test Equipment: Pilot scanners, baseline equipment, spectrum analyzers
  • Should have a good understanding of engineering concepts, and must show aptitude and desire to learn and advance in a technical field.
  • Proficient in office computer applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access
  • Good analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Pay Range in the United States: $55K - $81K based upon geography, skills, and experience. May also be eligible for performance incentive opportunity based on company and individual goals and performance
