Description

The Department of English Language and Literature at Smith College invites applications for a one-year, benefits eligible position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor to begin July 1, 2025. Teaching responsibilities for this position will include five courses (Shakespeare, Milton, early British literature survey, and a First Year seminar). Other courses may be taught depending upon the candidate's field of specialization. Candidates should have a strong foundation in Early Modern British literary studies and candidates with experience in teaching are encouraged to apply. Ph.D. in English or a relevant field is expected by the time of appointment. Candidates from groups underrepresented in the field are encouraged to apply.
