Department Summary

The new Department of Strategic and Operational Transformation (SOT) within the Office of Operations and Business Management is responsible for the development and management of the institution's strategy and strategic plan, process improvement, planning, and risk management.

Position Overview

The Program Manager, within the Department of Strategic and Operational Transformation, Office of Operations and Business Management is a highly visible team member responsible for facilitating and supporting the strategic efforts of the organization. This role is responsible for analyzing data for common themes and trends, coordinating development of the University's overarching strategic objectives and key results with executives and key stakeholder, monitoring and tracking execution of initiatives, and providing regular progress updates to the AVP Strategy, COO and executive team.

Minimum Qualifications

Masters Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field and five (5) years of relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Thorough understanding of strategic planning processes, including market analysis, competitive assessment, and long-term goal setting
* Proficient in setting targets, developing key performance indicators (KPIs), and prioritizing efforts based on strategic objectives
* Ability to understand and lead both qualitative and quantitative analysis
* Ability to identify and analyze complex problems, determine root causes, and propose innovative solutions with a strategic mindset
* Ability to think critically, using logic and reasoning to help identify alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
* Proficiency in evaluating the potential impact of solutions on broader organizational goals
* Advanced ability to synthesize and present complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, including senior leaders and stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field.
PMP certification
Lean Six Sigma certification
Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint skills and strong proficiency in effectively putting together presentations and stories depending on the audience and initiative.
Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analytics skills and analysis background.

Job Duties:



  • In conjunction with the AVP, Strategic and Operational Transformation is responsible for coordinating the facilitation of the annual strategic planning process for all stages of strategy development, from inception through execution and closure.
  • Supports strategic planning processes and strategic problem-solving efforts by helping senior leaders define key issues based on supporting data and design solutions for recommendation.
  • Works with executive leadership and key stakeholders to facilitate effective utilization of tools, methods, and qualitative and quantitative data to inform strategic alignment, develop roadmaps, and define prioritization of efforts.
  • Analyzes internal and external assessments and gathered data for common themes and trends contributing to development of strategic needs and focus areas to guide organizational decision-making.
  • Provides guidance to executives and key stakeholders in defining and tracking metrics and KPIs that measure the successful execution of strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Supports the Executive team through the Annual and Quarterly planning process, including the development of objectives, key results, targets/KPIs setting, and monitoring.
  • Gathers and reports data for dashboards and scorecards, and facilitates reviews to assess progress of the strategic initiatives.
  • Develops and updates simple dashboards and scorecards to provide a visual progress report on strategic initiatives. - (Essential)
  • Develops presentations on strategy information including progress and recommendations for the AVP, COO, and senior leaders.
  • Serves as the liaison across the University supporting localized strategy development to ensure alignment with overall strategic vision and objectives, as well as identifying and resolving problems and communicating any adjustments prior to implementation.
  • Works with leaders and cross-functional partners from across HSC to drive strategy execution and excellence on behalf of leadership.
  • Leads and/or supports the execution of more targeted cross-functional initiatives and adhoc-projects related to growth or operational efficiency.
