As the Specialist, Environmental 2 here's the work you'll do:

Position Summary

Plans, organizes and supervises activities at the Lone Star Texarkana facility for developing, implementing, and evaluating programs for pollution abatement, and control or prevention. Is responsible for administrative activities including supervision of personnel assigned. Supervises the collection, storage and final disposal of all hazardous and non-hazardous waste. Is responsible for the operations at the Thermal Treatment Unit. Is responsible for the operations of the Industrial Waste Water Treatment Facilities. Implements & Maintains regulatory permits to support facility.




  • Manages voluminous flow of data/communications from various regulatory and/or government agencies to many different levels of the organization and provides required responses and/or actions relating to environmental areas.
  • Assures current regulations and laws are implemented. Prepares written reports, work instructions, estimates, specifications, proposals and correspondence. Inspects operations for compliance with regulations. Produces and updates reports, responses, environmental assessments and permit applications.
  • Develops plans for meeting requirements and/or coordinates activities to abate, control and prevent pollution.
  • Insures that all work tasks are performed i/a/w current procedures and can satisfy all environmental requirements.
  • Evaluates Hazardous Waste Management activities to assure compliance with all regulatory requirements including applicable classroom and other training required to perform specific tasks related to hazardous waste management.
  • Develops and reviews standing operating procedures i/a/w environmental regulations and other guidelines.

This role is for you if you have these skills:

  • Knowledge of OSHA (Hazwoper).
  • Knowledge of the Federal Environmental Law and Regulations, and Facility Permits for your location.
  • Knowledge of the Operations of the Hazardous Waste Treatment and Storage Facilities.
  • Preferred knowledge of the Operations of the Industrial Waste Water Treatment Facilities.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Computer Programs.

And if you have these qualifications:

  • Education: Environmental Technician Training and certifications preferred
  • Length of Experience: 3 years experience in environmentally related fields
  • Certifications: 40-Hour HAZWOPER, Hazardous Waste Management, 40 hour RCRA Training - must be able to obtain certifications within 18 months. Must obtain State issued Class D Water Operator License within 1 year.
  • Licenses/ Registrations: Must be able to obtain Class C Water Distribution License within 3 years of obtaining Class D Water Operator License to remain in position.


In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $61,680- $92,520. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).

*Expertise in: EXCEL, WORD, CADD (Revit/Bentley)

*Ability to wear a mask, respirator, bullet proof vest, or other equipment.

*Ability to regularly perform all job functions at Company's office or worksite.

*Ability to withstand environmental conditions (e.g. extreme heat or cold, grass, wind, sand, fumes, odors, gases, extreme noise, etc.)
