Overview
BlueWater is looking for a highly qualified Senior Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team in support of critical Next Generation Missile Warning Program. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in systems engineering functions related to space or ground system software and hardware programs. This role will focus on the design, development, integration, and testing of space systems architecture at both the sub-system and system levels.
Responsibilities
- Lead the systems engineering efforts for space and ground system software and hardware programs, ensuring compliance with Space Systems Command and DoD standards and requirements.
- Develop and define system architecture and design, ensuring alignment with project objectives and stakeholder needs.
- Oversee the integration and testing of subsystems and systems, ensuring that all components work together effectively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues throughout the development lifecycle.
- Conduct system-level analyses to assess performance, reliability, and risk, providing recommendations for improvements.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system specifications, design documents, and test plans.
- Support the development of requirements and ensure traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Act as a subject matter expert in space systems architecture and engineering best practices.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and team members in systems engineering principles and practices.
- Stay current with missile warning trends, technologies, and best practices related to systems engineering and space systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in systems engineering functions for space or ground system software and hardware programs, preferably at Acquisition Category III level.
- Proven experience in space systems architecture design, development, integration, and testing at both the sub-system and system levels.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Familiarity with Space Systems Command, DoD and other government agency systems engineering standards and practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Must possess a TS/SCI Security Clearance
- Strongly desire 10+ years of experience in SBIRS or Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) domains and 5+ years of experience in OPIR Data Exploitation or Battlespace Awareness mission areas and 4+ years of testing, integration, and operations support on FORGE
