Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Part-Time Patient Services Associate - Brooklyn.
In this role, the successful candidate Manages bed availability and places patients in beds using the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. Partners with staff from Emergency Departments, inpatient units, Post-Anesthesia Care Units and procedural areas to safely place patients.
Job Responsibilities:
- Other duties as assigned by a supervisory staff.
- Perform bed placements and functions in a responsive manner, responding to all callers with the aid of the Electronic Health Record (EMR), approved protocols, established patient care protocols and healthcare information
- Evaluates bed availability and places patients in the requested level of care. Monitors bed planning and communicates changes in bed status to team members throughout the day.
- Accurately completes electronic patient placement notification to support safe patient placement.
- Accurately inputs/updates information into EHR.
- Prioritize bed placement in collaboration with key stakeholders and other hospital teams.
- Leads the daily bed huddle(s) and effectively communicates resources and issues appropriately.
- Works directly with CTC RN Coordinator to ensure timely bed assignments for transfers.
- Stays up to date with all departmental procedures, policies and communications to ensure adherence of appropriate process for final referral resolution.
- Exhibits excellent customer relationship skills including telephone and personal contact with all CTC key stakeholders (i.e. Medical Directors, Transfer Center nurses, physicians and their office staff, callers, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Highschool Diploma or GED
One year of call center experience. Excellent telephone manner and use of professional vocabulary.
Strong problem-solving, multi-tasking, analytical/critical thinking and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to establish and maintain collaborative and effective working relationships.
Ability to communicate effectively in oral, written and electronic formats (i.e. email, electronic medical record, etc.).
Ability to function calmly in a stressful situations and fast-paced environment.
Positive, enthusiastic, customer-service oriented personality.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates Degree
Knowledge of EHR

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $29.29 - $29.82 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
