Location: Remote (For Non-Local) or Hybrid (Local to NYC area)

Capital Rx is looking for an Actuary to join our Underwriting team. In this role, you will lead the actuarial model development to deliver analyses, projections, and financial forecasts as it pertains to pharmacy benefits administration and management. As a part of a growing team, you'll work directly with Underwriting's leadership and cross-functional departments to establish model processes and improvements.

Position Responsibilities:




  • Build and maintain actuarial and financial models to support business needs.





  • Develop analyses such as drug price projections, manufacturer rebate projections and utilization trends across Commercial, Exchange, Medicaid and Medicare lines of business





  • Manage collaboration with Leadership and other business functions to design, refine, and maintain internal financial modeling and forecasting SOPs in accordance with actuarial standards





  • Work collaboratively with Underwriting team on trend, pricing and reporting needs for prospective and current business as needed





  • Provide actuarial support for general business needs, as required





  • Responsible for adherence to the Capital Rx Code of Conduct including reporting of noncompliance




Minimum Qualifications:




  • Bachelor's degree, with record of strong academic performance in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance or Economics





  • ASA or FSA designation





  • 5+ years of proven actuarial experience at a Health Organization or a Pharmacy Benefit Manager with an emphasis in construction and maintenance of models.





  • Experience across Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid and Exchange healthcare lines of business are preferred





  • Data mining experience working with large structured and unstructured data sets





  • Advanced in Excel and data visualization tools





  • Experience in either SQL, SAS, or R is preferred





  • Track record of leading multiple cross-functional initiatives, driving high performance, meeting deadlines, and executing on deliverables





  • Exceptional technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills





  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills





  • Extremely flexible, highly organized, and able to shift priorities easily





  • Attention to detail & commitment to delivering high-quality work product




Base salary: $130,000 - $150,000
