Purpose of the Role
The Senior Manager, Subcontracts will lead the negotiation, execution, and management of complex procurement contracts to support Worley's ambitious journey towards delivering sustainable change. This role ensures alignment with our strategic objectives, fostering collaborative relationships with contractors and stakeholders while upholding the highest standards of integrity and contractual compliance. By driving innovation and sustainability across procurement processes, the Senior Manager will play a pivotal role in achieving Worley's ambition to derive a majority of its revenue from sustainability-focused projects.

Key Responsibilities



  • Oversee all phases of contractual undertakings, from negotiation to post-award management, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and alignment with Worley's sustainability objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategies for contractor selection, focusing on reliable partners who deliver high-quality consultancy, specialty, and construction services.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions that balance risk mitigation with operational efficiency, ensuring contracts are structured to support Worley's broader objectives.
  • Monitor contractor performance to ensure adherence to agreed-upon deliverables, timelines, and quality standards, driving continuous improvement across the supply chain.
  • Lead efforts in managing contract changes, including analyzing contractor correspondence, developing claims defense strategies, and collaborating with legal teams to protect Worley's interests.
  • Foster strong relationships with client representatives in cases where contracts are managed on behalf of clients, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective contract administration.
  • Drive innovation in systems, processes, and tools to enhance procurement and contract management capabilities, enabling Worley to deliver sustainable transformation for clients.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to team members, ensuring alignment with organizational culture and values while promoting professional development.
  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations that influence key business decisions and strategies.

Qualifications / Skillset



  • A university degree or equivalent in a related field or applicable discipline, coupled with extensive relevant experience in procurement contracts, ideally within the energy, chemicals, or resources sectors.
  • Proven track record of managing complex contracts, with expertise in negotiation, risk management, and post-award contract administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement innovative solutions that align with sustainability objectives, contributing to Worley's purpose of delivering a more sustainable world.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and foster collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on achieving organizational goals and driving continuous improvement.
  • Advanced knowledge of systems, processes, and tools related to procurement and contract management, with the ability to train and mentor others in their effective use.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information and influence senior-level decision-making.
