This is a seasonal position, you can use your winters off to travel, hunt, fish or for other activities you enjoy while your benefits continue year round.

Typical hours for this position are Monday-Friday from 7am-5pm. No Saturdays at this time.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Answers the phone, by first identifying themselves with their name.
  2. Enters all the required information (including date of delivery, delivery address and directions, type of mix, order quantity, slump, any special delivery/instructions or directions, start time, truck type, spacing, job site safety hazards, etc.) directly into the Command dispatch system, while the customer is on the phone
  3. Ensure accuracy of delivery address.
  4. Answers customer questions and addresses concerns.
  5. Recommends and checks mix designs and concrete volumes when customers are unsure.
  6. Sells the customer on the most advantageous job start times, by utilizing the schedule demand graph to minimize the trucks and drivers called to work.
  7. Evaluates every possible alternative in order to meet the customer needs.
  8. Ensures the customer understands all relevant company policies such as for will-call orders, load limits, additional products, over amount ordered, extra charges, and driver responsibilities.
  9. Reaches consensus concerning actions to be taken regarding policies.
  10. Probes the customer for information, upcoming orders, and cut-off quantities so there are no surprises.
  11. Informs the customer of value added products that are available for his particular job.
  12. Reads the order back to the customer to verify that all the information is correct.
  13. Gives the customer their order number and asks if he or she can be of any other help before ending the phone call.
  14. Makes changes to future and current day orders with customers on the phone.
  15. Calls and informs the customer if a truck is going to be late to their job.
  16. Ensures the schedule is accurate and up to date, so others can rely on the display for decision making.
  17. Informs the Scheduler and Dispatchers of any special instructions or situations relevant to their job function.
  18. Sort tickets for filing, cash or prepaid.
  19. Print and keep records of mix design reports.
  20. Enter cement tickets into excel daily.
  21. Send email usage report to main office.
  22. Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS



  1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or
  2. One to three months related experience and/or training, or
  3. Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  4. Knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  5. Must be able to communicate effectively.
