As a Quality Control Tech - Concrete (Seasonal), you are responsible to safely collect samples of crushed stone, aggregate, sand or gravel and test concrete for conformance to specifications. Assist with adjustments to mix designs at job sites - Represent KRC Quality specifications to our customers. Conduct all MN DOT testing and perform quality assurance testing with our customers.

Salary range: $26.00 - $28.00

Hours per week: 40+

Duties and/or Responsibilities:



  • Develop and maintain customer relations.
  • Meet with customers to investigate quality material issues and resolution.
  • Visit job sites to maintain customer relations and project quality and troubleshoot quality concerns.
  • Collect material samples, identify material, and compile statistical data on test results.
  • Examine and evaluate data - determine material quality in relation to specifications.
  • Maintain all required MN DOT and ACI certifications and maintain close relationships with MN DOT personnel and outside testing agencies.
  • Conduct finished and in-process inspections.
  • Perform concrete trail batches.
  • Remain current in knowledge of concrete quality specifications.
  • Call on customer warranty issues.
  • Safely and properly perform laboratory tests on a variety of materials (Aggregate and/or Concrete)
  • Perform arithmetic operations and record findings and needed actions.
  • Maintain lab, equipment and vehicle.
  • Perform daily housekeeping.
  • Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player and good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others.
  • Communicate test results to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Ensure work activities comply with OSHA, EPA, Safety and Environmental regulations.
  • Travel is required.
  • Performs other duties assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • General education, grammar and arithmetic, GED or high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure and acceptable driving record.
  • 2 + years of concrete experience preferred.
  • Concrete field and plant certifications preferred.
