Job Summary:



The Project Manager will manage multiple complex, high value projects from purchase order through delivery and the warranty period. The Project Manager will work cross-functionally to guide the Customer and business through project execution by utilizing experience, influence, and resources, to achieve on-time delivery, within budget. The Project Manager will be responsible to maintain a forecast of costs, margin, and schedule performance throughout the life of the project.


Responsibilities:


  • Primary Customer interface for assigned projects from purchase order through delivery and warranty period; resolves specification issues; handles correspondence; provides periodic updates; ensures Customer satisfaction; negotiates change orders (price and delivery); arranges and facilitates customer during witness tests; manages contract and Terms & Conditions

  • Manages and reports all financial aspects of the project including budgets, costs, margin, variances, invoicing, and receivables collection; promotes change order growth; provides monthly and estimate-at-completion forecasts

  • Develops and maintains project schedule and critical milestones; directs and administers project related activities to ensure projects are completed on-time and within internal and external quality/specification requirements; follows Roots Blowers Quality and QMS procedures

  • Facilitates project closeout reports and project review meetings

  • Provides leadership and direction to other functions within the project team; escalates through appropriate channels to remove roadblocks and resolve issues

  • Participates in the proposal process on large or high-risk projects




Requirements:


  • Project Management experience in

    manufacturing


    setting




Core Competencies:


  • Proven leadership skills in a matrix organization

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Solid understanding of basic financial concepts and measurements

  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally minimal but may be required

  • Ability to resolve conflict, to apply critical thinking to solve problems and to escalate when projects are at risk

  • Individual should be analytical, flexible, team-oriented, have good interpersonal, communication and follow-up skills with strong attention to detail

  • Tenacity in driving and influencing team members to meet or exceed objectives of Delivery, Quality, Project and Product Cost

  • Courage to promote change, to communicate risk to leadership and to present potential solutions




Preferences:


  • Bachelor's degree (engineering or technical discipline)

  • 5+ years' experience in Project Management role in

    manufacturing


    or industrial environment

  • Sales and/or Customer interface experience

  • Project Management software experience

  • Demonstrates the ability to develop detailed project timelines / schedules

  • Ability to read blueprints




Travel and Work Arrangements



This position will be based in Connersville, Indiana, with minimal anticipated travel.
