Job Description

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: The Senior Project Coordinator will play a multi-layered role by supporting two teams; the Department of Neurosurgery and Studer Lab. In this role, you will be responsible for leading project plans, timelines, budgets, meetings, and deliverables. This position also involves overseeing the department's trainee program, leading recruitment processes, updating social media, coordinating grant management, and planning events. Additionally, the role includes maintaining internal and external webpages and collaborating with various internal and external partners to drive initiatives.

Role Overview:

    Coordinates all aspects of assigned projects, develops project plans, and leads timelines, resources, and budgets. Provides administrative support, ensures deadlines are met, and reports progress to project leadership.
  • Oversees the management of grants such as the NYSTEM training grant, identifying new grant opportunities, and maintaining an updated list of available grants. Ensures proper documentation and reporting for ongoing grants.
  • Posts recruitment ads and collaborates with SKI programs on recruitment efforts. Schedules and coordinates candidate visits, seminars, and roundtables.
  • Oversees and updates social media accounts ensuring the appropriate platforms are used effectively for communication and outreach. Partners with leadership and faculty to develop a social media strategy.
  • Partners with Public Affairs to update the external webpage with the goal of increasing patient demand for Neurosurgical services. Ensures the internal webpage on OneMSK remains current and relevant to staff and partners.
  • Organizes and plans symposiums, seminars, and other events, including logistics and content.
  • Takes on additional projects as required, collaborating with leadership to drive future initiatives.

Key Qualifications:

  • Prior project coordination or management, with exposure to clinical and research-based projects.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple projects, social media and website management.
  • Ability to work with diverse teams and partners to ensure smooth execution of initiatives.

Core Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and lead several tasks at once.
  • Ability to handle adversity calmly and resolve issues independently.
  • Advanced proficiency in software such as database management, spreadsheets, word processing, and graphics applications.

Additional Information:

  • Location: 1275 York Ave, NYC and 430 E. 67 Street, NYC
  • Schedule: hybrid, 37.5 hours Monday to Friday
  • Reporting to: Director, Hospital Administration
