Job Summary

The Life Sciences Account Executive (AE) sells the organization's products and services to and maintains relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers (pharmas) and independent software vendors (ISVs) who serve the life sciences industry. The AE will manage sales activities for some of the Top 20 global pharmas, including representing the company to senior pharma and ISV leadership, independently navigating pricing and contracting, and closing deals. The AE will also own and lead early-stage prospecting (particularly with pharmas who are not in the Top 20 and with rising ISVs).

Responsibilities
  • Act as a trusted advisor and customer advocate to develop and manage strong relationships with key individuals and top decision makers the pharma and ISV space.
  • Independently create account-based go-to-market plans, with trackable metrics, and execute against those plans with C-level visibility
  • Achieve quarterly bookings and revenue targets across multiple products.
  • Monitor market conditions, product innovations and competitor's product, prices and sales.
  • Work closely with Account Managers to drive successful implementation and go live of closed deals.
  • Share life sciences industry knowledge within the organization and mentor Account Managers to enhance service delivery and strengthen the team
  • Liaison for collaboration between customer and Surescripts Product Innovation, Quality, Business Development, Legal, Finance, Network Services, Security, and Marketing.
  • Identify, develop, and propose alternative contracting models aligning customer objectives with Surescripts objectives.
  • Drive a corporate culture of urgency, simplicity and sales success with team and peers by supporting the company culture.
Qualifications Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
  • 12+ years of Life Sciences sales or business development experience in the pharma commercialization, patient access, and/or data fields
  • 5+ years of experience closing complex $500K+ deals in the pharma or pharma ISV area
  • 5+ years of experience selling to multiple SVP or C-level stakeholders
  • Experience manages sales pipeline in Salesforce or a similar large-scale CRM
  • Annual revenue responsibility through a combination of maintaining base business and new business
  • Technical competence with MS Office products
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree
  • Experience leading a multi discipline team through a defined selling process with multi-level, high value complex accounts
  • Strategic Account Management Association (SAMA) Certification or other relevant accreditation

At Surescripts, base pay is one part of our Total Rewards Package (which may also include bonus, benefits etc.) and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this position is $186,136 - $227,500 per year. Your base pay may vary within or outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including (but not limited to) your qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
