Join Our Team as a Senior Business Analyst!
We are looking for a Business Analyst to join our expanding technology organization to work with our global Finance, Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and Commerce Services teams performing business analysis for our custom software, automation platforms, and our unique customer website experience. You'll be a key contributor on technology projects and initiatives that support, grow, and manage our technology capabilities at Protolabs globally!

What you'll do
  • Work collaboratively with product owners, software developers, business users and stakeholders to elicit and document requirements, analyze and guide solutions to ensure they meet the needs of the business, and ensure project deliverables match the business requirements.
  • Collaboratively define, gather, and consolidate high level user stories identified during release planning.
  • Refining requirements to reduce ambiguity and create a clear product vision in the backlog
  • Maintain visibility to user stories, being attentive to changing requirements and priorities.
  • Work as a team and with other cross-functional teams to design solutions that meet the needs of multiple business lines.
  • Raise awareness of solutions that will include process changes and work with the organization to ensure business readiness.
  • Verify product quality through system testing in addition to user acceptance testing.
  • Create user stories, identify and capture acceptance criteria and UI design to clearly communicate the needs of the business and direction of the product owner.
  • Work with the product owner to groom the backlog of prioritized user stories as necessary.
  • Prepare work to support program increments.
  • Support and foster the Agile development methodology.
  • Review completed development work with the product owner, stakeholders, and users as necessary before release into production.
  • Define high level requirements based on strategic initiatives.
  • Be an advocate for the work, promoting and increasing visibility to the program.
  • Collaborate with the team on working agreements. Define Definition of Ready, Definition of Done and how your work fits into those definitions.
What it takes:
  • Experience leveraging Salesforce to empower sales and operational excellence.
  • Prior experience eliciting and interpreting business and user requirements and providing IT solutions in a Business Analyst role.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills breaking down system and process problems and ability to partner with business users on recommend solutions.
  • Experience writing features and user stories, including detailed descriptions and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience developing and communicating business workflows.
  • Experience conducting and leading business requirement gathering sessions, decomposing abstract ideas into details, and identifying and communicating risks.
  • Demonstrated work experience in a Business Analyst or Product Owner role supporting technology and business partners with the implementation of technology solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in working within an Agile team in a fast paced, technically challenging environment.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving, troubleshooting, time management, oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and current trends.
  • Experience working in an agile product management tool, preferably Azure Dev Ops
  • Ability to understand application interactions and the dependencies that exist.

  • Experience working in a scaled agile environment (SAFe or similar framework)
  • Experience working at a company that manufactures products.
  • Experience working on software products that support manufacturing.

Actual pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, job function, work experience, specialized skills, training, education, and certifications.

Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
