We are investing millions of dollars annually to provide customers with the tools to better manage their energy use, scale the adoption of energy efficiency and clean heating technologies while targeting customers in disadvantaged communities, and minimizing infrastructure investment with clean energy solutions whenever possible.The Customer Energy Services department is seeking a creative and analytical strategic leader with strong experience in the clean energy transition. The Section Manager, Energy Efficiency, oversees the Company's demand-side management (DSM) initiatives to help ensure system reliability, including design, operations, administration, budgetary, marketing, performance and analysis, reporting, process improvement, customer and stakeholder engagement, and the team responsible for implementing these initiatives.The successful candidate will lead a team of experienced DSM professionals that will further the Company's clean energy transition, support Climate Leadership & Community Protection Act (CLCPA) legislation, and implement programs that are designed to achieve the Company's clean energy goals and comply with all regulatory mandates. The Section Manager fosters a culture of high-performance, professional development, inclusiveness and teamwork that values creativity, critical thinking and encourages leadership. The Section Manager partners with Company leadership and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of business objectives, represents the Company's interest to stakeholders and participates in industry organizations to keep informed of best practices and trends.More specifically, the Section Manager, Energy Efficiency, for Business Development and Customer Engagement, oversees all aspects of the Company's demand-side management initiatives to help ensure that customers and trade allies have the tools necessary to engage in the Company's portfolio of clean energy programs. This will include oversight of all software systems, the online Marketplace, and any additional software tools that are identified. The Section Manager will be responsible for overseeing all marketing campaigns, including collaboration with internal Program Managers and external market partners to create program-specific marketing communication, and coordinate all customer outreach events. The candidate must possess a detailed understanding of the regulatory environment, departmental budgets, energy saving goals, earnings opportunities, and technical competency to identify beneficial marketing strategies.This role will have substantial executive exposure and substantial cross-organization engagement.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee DSM initiatives to ensure system reliability, including design, operations, administration, budget, marketing, performance analysis, reporting, process improvement, and stakeholder engagement.
- Lead a team of DSM professionals to support the clean energy transition, CLCPA legislation, and regulatory compliance.
- Foster a high-performance, inclusive culture that values creativity, critical thinking, and leadership.
- Partner with leadership and stakeholders to align business objectives and stay informed of best practices and trends.
- Recruit, develop, and retain a diverse, engaged team in an inclusive, high-performance environment.
- Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including regulators and industry leaders.
- Provide analysis and support to represent the Companys interests to external stakeholders.
- Coordinate and oversee all software systems, including the online Marketplace, to support clean energy programs.
- Develop business plans and communication channels for seamless customer and trade ally engagement.
- Coordinate residential and C&I customer engagement to increase program awareness and participation in NY and NJ.
- Oversee marketing activities and DSM program tracking software to ensure consistent messaging and accurate program savings.
- Analyze engagement strategies to maximize program performance and achieve shareholder incentives.
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Business or a related field and a minimum of 8 years relevant work experience or
- Master's Degree in Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Business or a related field and minimum of 6 years relevant work experience.
