Position Summary: The Intern, Sustaining Engineering will assist the team responsible for the design and change authority of firearm product currently being assembled at SIG SAUER. This intern is responsible for assisting in the support of the Assembly floor through problem solving as well as drawing changes and updates to current products.

FLSA: Non-exempt

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
* Support the assembly, manufacturing and quality organizations in accomplishment of company goals for quality, delivery, and cost.
* Make drawing and model changes to existing product using SOLIDWORKS and Agile PLM system per SIG drafting standards and standard work.
* Provide engineering and drawing support for non-R&D related product line extensions.
* Obtain working knowledge of company tools. Perform analyses and compile data for investigation by engineering personnel.
* Assist in the performance of internal engineering and design validation test programs, document results as required.
* Other responsibilities as assigned by department manager or other engineers.
* Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Education/Experience & Skills:
* Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
* Experience with SOLIDWORKS.
* Minimum completion of sophomore year.
* Firearms experience a plus.
* Machining experience a plus.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
* Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, both verbally and in written form.

Working Conditions:
* Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer using a keyboard and mouse performing repetitive tasks.
* Ability to open file cabinets, reach with hands and arms, bend, and twist, lift and move files.
* Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
* Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
* Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. Security Mandates.
