Overview:

METI is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to support our contract with the Weapons Survivability Laboratory (WSL) to act as the overall lead, manager, and administrator for the contracted effort. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary interface and point of contact with Government program authorities on technical and program/project issues. The Chief Engineer will oversee contractor execution of the contract requirements. You will also manage the acquisition and employment of program/project resources.

Duties:



  • Serve as the primary interface with Government program authorities on technical and program/project issues.
  • Lead, manage, and oversee all contractor efforts to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Develop and implement engineering strategies, plans, and policies in support of the Weapons Survivability Laboratory (WSL) mission.
  • Provide technical leadership and direction to multidisciplinary teams, ensuring successful execution of project objectives.
  • Manage the acquisition and effective utilization of program/project resources, including personnel, equipment, and budgets.
  • Oversee the planning, development, and execution of engineering projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate technical and programmatic risks to project success.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Government agencies, contractors, and technical experts, to achieve project goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures, including security and safety requirements.
  • Review and approve technical documentation, reports, and project deliverables.
  • Support proposal development, contract modifications, and other acquisition-related activities as needed.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to engineering staff, fostering professional growth and development.


Qualifications:



  • At minimum, an active Top Secret Clearance is required.
  • 10 years of relevant experience is required.
  • A Masters Degree within at least one of the following subjects: Electrical/Electronic engineer, Computer Engineer, Computer Science, Mechanical engineer, Physicist, or Systems Engineer. A Bachelor's Degree plus 6 years' additional work experience may be substituted for a Master's Degree.
  • Communicate effectively with multiple departments and stakeholders.
  • Experience with Project Management is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications.
