Job Overview:
The Manual Machinist is an experienced machinist who is disciplined, creative and an excellent problem solver who will thrive in our lean manufacturing environment. A successful candidate is a reliable individual who is able to read blueprints and hold tight tolerances with a strong mechanical aptitude.
Responsibilities:
*Uses blueprints, sketches, drawings, and/or job instruction sheets to produce dimensions and tolerances of finished work-piece and setup requirement. *Cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, grinders, machining centers, drill presses, and drill machines. *Sets up, operates, and monitors machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required. *Utilizes a variety of measurement tools and methods to evaluate finished parts against specification and reworks parts that don't meet specifications. *Operates with the close attention to detail required to meet print specifications, down to 0.0002in tolerances and maintains 5S standards of organization and housekeeping of work area. *Follows all ISO procedures and safety rules, including wearing personal safety equipment and performing hoist inspections.
Requirements:
*High school diploma or GED required *Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, memos, and procedure manuals. *Ability to perform basic calculations with numbers between 0.0001 and 0.1 and ability to convert between metric and US standard units of measure. *Ability to understand and carry out detailed written or oral instructions. *Ability to effectively use tools such as the following: depth gages, bore gages, height gages, feeler gages, micrometers, calipers, deburring tools, die grinders, drill presses, overhead lifting equipment, etc. *Ability to lift up to 35 lbs alone, or 70 lbs with assistance, repeatedly over an 8 hour shift and ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours continuously during a shift.

*Ability to effectively share information about job duties in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisor, customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Preferences:
*2 years machining experience, Associates degree, or training certification preferred
