Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Editorial/Media Specialist I for the Office of Information Technology. Reporting to the Director of IT Communications and Marketing, the Editorial/Media Specialist I supports the Office of Information Technology and other information technology professionals and units at Rutgers in the planning, management, and execution of a variety of communications and marketing initiatives and projects.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Researches, writes, and edits varied materials, including email announcements and newsletters, web content, reports, presentations, publications, feature stories, social media posts, and other materials.
- Plans, develops, and project manages assignments in consultation with the Director of IT Communications and staff within IT at Rutgers.
- Works directly in content management systems and other tools to create, update, and maintain webpages and produce other content.
- Edits own work and the work of others.
- Assists with crisis communications.
- Works on a variety of Rutgers IT communications and marketing projects, incorporating key Rutgers IT priorities and plans, as well as broader university goals.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge, skill, and understanding of writing, editing, proofreading, publishing, marketing, organizational coordination, and/or facilitation.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in communications, editorial, or marketing role.
