Wieland is hiring a Maintenance & Engineering Projects Manager. The maintenance & engineering projects manager will be responsible for effectively planning, directing and coordinating all activities of the Maintenance Department and ensuring continuous production of quality welded tube products and stamped products. Works closely with the Plant Manager and others to coordinate green initiatives and coordinate all new maintenance projects from start to finish. Works closely with independent contractors as needed. Manages the activities of assigned projects in the care, repair, rebuilding, design, replacement or installation of machinery and equipment. This role is located in Cuba, MO and will be fully on-site.



Responsibilities

Maintenance & Engineering Projects Manager Responsibilities:

    Plans, organizes, and supervises the maintenance of grounds, buildings, electrical and electronic services and fixtures for the facility.
  • Assures the operation of production equipment through regularly scheduled preventive maintenance programs and ensures effective repairs of all mills, tools, cranes, tractors, and other production-related equipment.
  • Plans, organizes, coordinates, and supervises shutdown maintenance activities.
  • Supervises the activities of technical and craft personnel, assigning duties, recommending hiring and job actions, providing for training and development of employees supervised. Interprets company policy and maintains a positive working atmosphere.
  • Reviews maintenance, facilities, and equipment upgrade projects, estimate costs, purchases equipment and oversees installations as directed by the Plant Manager.
  • Maintains contact with various outside vendors and agents, working closely with East Alton Purchasing Dept. for replenishment of goods and supplies required for operation of the plant.
  • Works with others on green initiatives and looks to alternative ways to cut back on the footprint of the building and manufacturing processes.
  • Plans, reviews, and facilitates the equipment of the plant for longevity and reliability.
  • Coordinates and plans Capital expenditures for all plant related items.
  • Works with all equipment PLC programming.
  • Drafts drawings or sketches for design engineers to complete or to request parts fabrication by machine shops or outside vendors or inside fabrication
  • Develops and enforces standards for vendors regarding new equipment or modifications on existing equipment.
  • Manages departmental budget for maintenance activities.Performs periodic review and update of job descriptions of subordinates
  • Assists in troubleshooting, repairs and/or training.

Maintenance & Engineering Projects Manager Qualifications:

  • 4-year Degree plus 5 years' experience or a minimum of 10 years' experience in related field.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • High level knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical equipment, preferable to have experience before management in an electrical engineer/tech position.
  • Good network and experience with various suppliers
  • Proven track record of improvements achieved in highly complicated material flow environment
  • Accepts and delegates high levels of responsibility for processes affecting the organization's long-term welfare.
