Job Summary:
This position performs a variety of custodial tasks required in the routine cleaning and maintenance of university buildings. Moderately heavy physical effort is required for some tasks such as floor scrubbing, emptying trash containers, moving furniture and equipment, etc. Occasional overtime may be required for snow removal and/or emergency cleanup. Work is performed under the guidance of a Custodial Services Supervisor. Responsibilities: Cleans facilities, removes waste and recycling, and monitors building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours. Ensures cleanliness, orderliness, and safety in assigned areas.

This position may require working in or around animal facilities on campus. Those working in or around animal facilities are required to complete an annual safety training and personnel medical evaluation form to gain clearance. Some areas have additional requirements for entry, including a TB test with negative results and measles titer test. We will provide trainings that will address hazards as well as how to safely perform job duties by, for example, following signage and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
