Our team is dedicated to excellence, and we are looking for a Director of Quality to lead our Global Quality Management System (QMS) team. The Director of Quality will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining technical quality assurance and control systems to ensure compliance with ISO9001 standards. This role will lead the global QMS team, collaborate closely with the Supplier Quality Director, and oversee regulatory programs at Itron. The Director will also assist product support areas in gathering and analyzing data, and will select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. *This is a hybrid position and can be located in West Union, SC, Raleigh, NC or Austin, TX. Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the global QMS team, including quality system engineers, data analysts, and lead auditors.
  • Ensure Itron's quality system is compliant with ISO9001 standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Supplier Quality Director to implement applicable QMS requirements across suppliers.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of technical quality assurance and control systems, standards, methods, and procedures.
  • Lead the global internal and external audit programs to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Develop and implement innovative, complex, strategic operational roadmaps and objectives that enable successful execution of corporate and functional strategies.
  • Contribute to the New Product Introduction methodology, ensuring all product and QMS requirements are met.
  • Implement and maintain the Global QMS Training Program and QMS documentation structure.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure QMS compliance.
  • Act as the Global Management Representative and ensure the completion of annual Global Management Reviews.
  • Identify and implement engineering and quality controls for error-proofing and lead the implementation of these systems across the region and/or area of responsibility.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Engineering or Quality Management.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in Quality Systems, including QMS and manufacturing.
  • At least 8 years of experience leading a QMS team.
  • Experience in a regulated industry.
  • Proficiency in risk management, DFMEA, PFMEA, reliability, and 8D/CAPA methodology.
  • Certified Quality Auditor, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Advanced degree in Quality Management or a related field.
  • Experience with global quality management systems.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
