Job Description

General Statement of Responsibilities: Leads improvement projects throughout the facility that are driven by identified constraints within a value stream. Relentless approach to identifying and eliminating waste in order to reduce overall costs. Passionate about improvement and helping people to find a "smarter" way to do their job.

Essential Duties (Other duties may be assigned as necessary):



  • Create value stream maps for plant processes; use information from these maps to drive continuous improvement activities.
  • Lead standard work teams and assist in standard work development.
  • Lead culture change through Kaizen activities and by training other employees on basic Lean and Six Sigma principles and concepts.
  • Project Management - create detailed project plans in order to manage multiple projects, achieve business plan results, and meet project deadlines.
  • Improve Plant 5S, 3D and Visualization - must possess a very strong working knowledge of these concepts.
  • Lead setup reduction projects - must possess a very strong working knowledge of SMED principles and techniques.
  • Possesses strong people skills and excellent communication skills.
  • Possesses ability to overcome objections in a positive/favorable manner.
  • Supports the Plant quality systems goals/improvements & productivity goals/improvement within the scope of the job.
  • Supports the Plant safety programs/goals within the scope of the job.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Compliance to applicable Company, Corporate, State, & Federal regulations.

Salaried

Education: Bachelor's of Science degree in an appropriate discipline. Preference given to individuals with education in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Quality, and/or Manufacturing Engineering. Must possess solid background in Lean Manufacturing with 2-5 years direct continuous improvement or related experience. Experience in Toyota Production System is a requirement. Possess basic computer skills pertinent to the positions (i.e. Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Visio - EVSM). Previous experience facilitating via Six Sigma required. Project management skills required.

Language - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write report, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions. Math - Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical interference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions. Reasoning Ability - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in oral, written, and diagram form and to deal with abstract and concrete variables.

Physical - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment - The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Certifications - Lean Six Sigma Certification

Starting Wage : Base starting wage is $63,000 - $72,000/annually. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to: job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. At NTN, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
