Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, the Associate Director for Marketing and Communications leads and manages communication efforts and public-facing initiatives for the Division of Student Affairs and its units. As the division's chief communicator, this role ensures that all messaging aligns with Temple University's branding and content strategy to support student engagement and success while advancing DOSA's mission. The incumbent will oversee the development of communication plans and produce innovative, compelling content to effectively reach students, staff, and stakeholders.

The Associate Director serves as the primary liaison with Strategic Marketing and Communications (SMC), collaborating with leaders in the Division of Student Affairs, the Office of the Provost, and SMC to promote open, consistent communication across systems, supporting the missions of both the division and the university. This role manages the division's social media platforms, oversees the standardization of the divisional web presence, enhances the division's marketing and communications, and undertakes other duties as assigned. This is a full-time, 12-month, live-off position. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field
* At least 4 years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, digital communications, or public relations.
* An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities
* Experience and ability to work effectively, both independently and collaboratively, with diverse internal and external constituencies, including faculty, administrators, students, parents, and community partners.
* Ability to brainstorm, synthesize multiple concepts, and think strategically.
* Strong creative, strategic, analytical, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
* Excellent verbal and written communication, editing, and storytelling skills.
* Ability to work independently and implement new initiatives effectively.

Preferred
* Master's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, education, or a related field.
* Experience working within higher education or a large, complex organization.
* Exceptional networking and interpersonal skills, including strong public speaking and interpretive abilities.
