Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Chief Operating Officer of Dealerships and Distribution is responsible for working with the C.E.O., to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Responsible for maintaining and nurturing strong relationships with our Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to ensure seamless collaboration and support for product development.
  • Help plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's fiscal function and performance.
  • Participate in the development of the corporation's plans and programs as a strategic partner.
  • Provide professional assistance and representation at legislative sessions, manufacturer and trade association meetings
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.
  • Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation.
  • Establish credibility throughout the organization and with the upper management team as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.
  • Continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets.
  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization, i.e., evaluation of potential alliances acquisitions and/or mergers and pension funds and investments.
  • Be an advisor from the financial perspective on any contracts into which the Corporation may enter. Please Note: The President will NOT be responsible for banking, insurance, computer software and/or financial reporting. Input/suggestions may be requested and/or considered, but responsibility and authority will not be part of the essential functions of this position.
  • Assess and ensure progress and status in attaining objectives and revise objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions
  • Travel to all CPS&S locations to meet with employees and represent the management team.
  • Assist in ensuring that the company does not violate any federal, state or local laws
  • Assist in ensuring that the company maintains an excellent reputation with all manufactures / vendors and does not violate any agreements
  • Assist in locating and developing potential new businesses and customers.
  • Identify and assist in resolving problems within our processes and procedures to increase the efficiency, quality, service and cost-effective management of resources to ensure a positive impact on overall company profitability.
  • Evaluate performance of management staff for compliance with established policies and objectives of the company and contributions in attaining objectives.


Qualifications

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) or equivalent; or ten to fifteen years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE

A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a progressive leadership role in the construction, commercial generators or diesel engine distribution/dealership fields.
