Job Description:

If so, consider joining Enterprise Technology as the Director of Digital Collaboration at Arizona State University. We’re seeking an innovative and strategic leader with deep IT Service Management (ITSM ) expertise and a passion for continuous improvement to lead our Digital Collaboration team. In this role, you’ll oversee a team supporting platforms like ServiceNow, Atlassian, and other enterprise solutions, shaping the future of how we collaborate and deliver exceptional service. With an increased emphasis on authenticity and compassion, this position strives to embody and advance our culture.

 

Salary: $88,700 - $135,000; Depends on Experience

 

Essential Duties:

  • Supervise and manage the overall development and activities of assigned staff.
  • Direct and participate in the overall development, administration, and evaluation of assigned technology processes and procedures.
  • Develop and execute a vision for digital collaboration platforms, aligning with organizational goals and strategic priorities.
  • Drive the adoption of enterprise collaboration tools to enhance productivity and efficiency across the university.
  • Participate in formulation of annual budget and controls ongoing operating budget.
  • Oversee the administration, configuration, and optimization of platforms such as ServiceNow, Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, etc.), and other enterprise collaboration tools.
  • Conduct direct liaison with university IT staff regarding ongoing operation, application and existing resources.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and professional growth..
  • Administer the implementation of projects, and the application of policies.
  • Take responsibility for fostering a positive culture, upholding organizational values, and championing engagement in all its forms.
  • Collaborate across teams and actively participate in ET/ASU events and programs.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proven knowledge and experience of ServiceNow, or other Enterprise ITSM Platforms 
  • Knowledge of Atlassian Products
  • Knowledge and understanding of the research, instruction, and administrative functions of area assigned.
  • Knowledge of management and supervisory principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of current information technology best practices including technical aspects (computer, data centers, facilities, and instrumentation laboratory strategies) and support aspects (TQM, customer service techniques, organizational issues).
  • Knowledge of budget management methods and techniques.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of principles, concepts, and practices of organizational management.
  • Knowledge of current government regulations and how it impacts the privacy and security of information.
  • Skill in planning for information resources and technology.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with faculty, administrators, service professionals, and staff.
  • Skill in both verbal and written communication.
  • Skill in problem solving and decision-making.
  • Skill in effectively managing, supervising and evaluating assigned staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to model empathy, compassion, and emotional intelligence.

Working Environment:

  • Activities primarily take place in a standard, climate-controlled office environment and may involve extended periods of sitting, standing, or moving between office spaces.
  • This role involves regular use of a computer (desktop and/or laptop), including a keyboard and mouse.
  • Responsibilities may require the ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities.
  • Effective communication and proficiency with a variety of technologies are essential for collaboration with the broader team.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and seven (7) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field including two (2) years managerial experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
