Responsibilities

The Fair Lending Compliance Analyst is responsible for maintaining an effective Fair Lending Program to ensure that the Credit Union remains compliant with all Fair Lending laws and regulations. The Fair Lending Compliance Analyst will implement, administer, and coordinate all aspects of the Credit Union's Fair Lending program under the direction of the Assistant Vice President/Assistant General Counsel.

The Fair Lending Compliance Analyst will draft and/or revise fair lending related policies and procedures, guidelines, standards, forms as necessary to ensure a strong Fair Lending Program for the Credit Union, subject to the review and approval of Supervisor. The role will develop, participate in, and train associates on fair lending laws and policies and procedures. The role will monitor and review the Credit Union's lending portfolios to include comparative file review and exception reporting and to help ensure compliance with fair lending laws. Specifically, the Fair Lending Compliance Analyst will schedule and perform periodic fair lending reviews to identify areas of concern for fair lending violations, propose solutions to Supervisor to mitigate the risk, implement risk mitigation solutions as directed and maintain adequate work papers. The role will assist in the coordination of third-party reviews to include preparation, providing access to data and/or information to allow for successful completion, follow-up on identified issues, and propose written responses to any finding(s) subject to review and approval by Supervisor. The Fair Lending Compliance Analyst will gather fair lending related complaints by members and report to Supervisor any trends requiring further action. The role will perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor to include review of marketing materials, disclosures, and other product related forms, respond to inquiries by business units, and participate in new product development. With limited authority, the role will monitor changes in fair lending laws and regulations and make recommendations on how to implement the changes.

SKILLS
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to develop professional relationships to meet organizational strategic objectives
* Displays knowledge of and a pragmatic understanding of consumer compliance statutes and regulations, especially those relating to fair lending (i.e., the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, Fair Housing Act and Equal Credit Opportunity Act), and guidance provided by regulators
* Proficiency in performing targeted compliance testing for Fair Lending and HMDA reviews
* Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational and time management skills
* Strong working knowledge or ability to learn Credit Union programs and lending department's respective loan operating systems
* Self-starter, able to take responsibility and work independently
* General knowledge and experience with compliance programs and specific knowledge of software used to analyze fair lending trends and specific experience using data to create studies
* Ability to recognize trends and advise on policy and procedure changes

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
* Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
* Visually able to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading
* Ability to sit for extended time periods
* Sufficient manual skill for operation of PC keyboard and other standard office equipment
* Ability to travel, including occasional overnight travel
* Ability to exert minimum amounts of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects
