Position Overview We are looking for a strategic and visionary leader to shape the future of our Maintenance department. Reporting to the General Manager, the Ops Maintenance and Reliability Manager will play a critical role in driving departmental transformation, fostering accountability, and building a high-performing team. While maintenance expertise is a valuable asset, the key requirement is proven leadership. We are open to candidates who have successfully led teams and driven results in operations, supply chain, engineering, continuous improvement, or general management within a manufacturing environment. They excel at setting direction, holding teams accountable, and creating clarity during times of change. Most importantly, they can visualize the future state, translate strategy into action, and guide the department through change adoption with confidence. This is a role for someone who thrives on leading people, driving process improvement, and partnering cross-functionally to deliver sustainable results. What to Expect in the Role
- Lead the maintenance department with a focus on team accountability, change adoption, and strategic transformation.
- Collaborate with external consultants and plant leadership to establish a new framework for departmental success.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and energy reduction while aligning with the company's broader strategic goals.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and preventative maintenance while upholding company vision and values.
- Deliver efficient and reliable repair & maintenance services through a team of salaried and hourly employees.
- Provide input and oversight for facility operations including utilities, equipment reliability, and capital planning.
- Partner with engineering and operations to assess bottlenecks, recommend innovations, and enable future growth.
- Leverage systems such as the Computerized Maintenance Management System (MainSaver) to improve planning, scheduling, and inventory control.
- Act as a champion of safety, food safety, and compliance, ensuring all regulatory and environmental standards are met.
- Build strong internal partnerships with cross-functional teams to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency.
What You Bring Must Haves
- 10+ years' progressive leadership experience in operations, supply chain, engineering, continuous improvement, or maintenance management.
- Proven ability to lead and hold teams accountable, inspire change, and drive measurable outcomes.
- Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to visualize and execute future-state improvements.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills with a balance of short-term solutions and long-term planning.
- Exceptional communication and transparency in leadership.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and leading change adoption of new tools or processes.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations (e.g., OSHA or equivalent).
Nice to Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or related discipline).
- Experience in food processing or regulated manufacturing environments.
- Exposure to best practices in reliability engineering and preventive maintenance.
- Knowledge of utilities management (Power, HVAC, Refrigeration, Compressed Air, Water, Wastewater).
- Familiarity with capital planning, risk management, and insurance compliance.
