https://www.uamont.edu/academics/CFANR/index.html Summary of Job Duties:Developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses (40%) in the purchase of timber and timberland and supplying fiber resources to mills. Outreach and technical support (60%) to the forest industry in Arkansas. The position will involve applied research on issues critical to forest procurement and/or marketing markets in Arkansas, outreach, and service to the existing forest industry in assisting state agencies with recruiting efforts, and teaching undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, and certificate classes in forest products, wood technology, and manufacturing. Development of an externally-funded research program and recruiting, advising, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students is also expected. Qualifications:

The Center for Forest Business is looking for a candidate with experience in applied forest management in the United States and strength in one or more of the following areas:

  • Marketing of timber and wood products
  • Timber and land valuations
  • Managing logging operations and transport

For consideration at the Instructor rank, applicants should have a master's degree with specialization in forestry or business. For consideration at the Assistant Professor rank, applicants should have a Ph.D. related to forest operations, forest finance, or forest business. An undergraduate degree in forestry or practical forestry work experience is strongly desired. Candidates should have the ability to work closely with the forest industry in promoting sustainable forest-based economic growth. The ability to work collaboratively with other faculty members and representatives of governmental and non-governmental organizations is also important.
