Overview

LMI is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Software Developer to support the United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) at our office in Colorado Springs, CO.

A successful Senior Full-Stack Software Developer will have a deep expertise in front-end and back-end development, modern cloud-based architectures, and best practices for building scalable, high-performance applications. This role requires strong technical leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.

    Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure full-stack web applications.
  • Architect and implement front-end solutions using modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Develop and optimize back-end services, APIs, and microservices.
  • Design and manage relational and NoSQL databases, ensuring high performance and scalability.
  • Lead software development best practices, including code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and test automation.
  • Implement cloud-based solutions and infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and deploy applications in containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications for performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including UX/UI designers, product managers, and DevOps engineers.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior developers.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in full-stack software development.
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Strong back-end development skills with Node.js, Python, Java, C#, or .NET.
  • Experience with database design and optimization using MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
  • Expertise in building and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and scalable system design.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira, Git, and Confluence.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government Top Secret security clearance, for which one must be a US citizen.

Desired:

  • 10+ years of experience in full-stack software development.
  • Background in orbital mechanics, space situational awareness, space based environmental monitoring, or space control.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with STK, SOAP, AFSIM, or other space analytical tools.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in developer communities.
  • Certifications in AWS, Azure, or other relevant technologies.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.

Target salary range: $104040 - $183600. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to your skills, experience, education, and/or certifications.
