What You Will Do:

The Clinical Experiences & Internship Manager is responsible in ensuring a successful internship experience for students and employers, including effective service delivery during the placement process, performance reviews/evaluations and intern/supervisor satisfaction. The Clinical Experiences & Internship Manager would oversee the placement management, relationship and task management between Career Advisors, Employer Relations Managers, Employer Partners, Success Coaches/Academic Advisors, and Career Development Faculty. The Clinical Experiences & Internship Manager would build and steward relationships with interns, internship supervisors and internal staff and faculty. They will act as an escalation point to ensure intern and employer partner satisfaction. This person would also outline and manage the process to ensure efficiency and effectiveness, and create training and engagement materials for students and internship supervisors/employer partners. The Clinical Experiences & Internship Manager will assist in driving the attendance for career and industry-related events, and career development programming. This person will collaborate and partner with department chairs, faculty and staff to promote Career Bridge services and programming. This role will work mainly at the Chicago campus, but may be required go to other campuses as needed.



Essential Responsibilities

    Internship Preparation:
    • Drive the planning of the quarterly internship matching process and align career bridge staff, success coaches/academic advisors, program chairs and faculty in gathering key information required for the process
    • Oversee internship on-boarding activities of employer sites, including submission of required paperwork and forms, site approvals and internship supervisor orientation and expectation setting for the term
    • Ensure planning, logistics, and facilitation of internship readiness workshops with the Career Advising team and Career Development faculty, as well as other functional staff designed to build relationships with interns
    • In partnership with Employer Relations Managers, ensure a clear supervisor engagement plan for each internship supervisor before the start of internship to ensure roles are clear
  • Internship Management:
    • Proactively ensure continuous contact with interns and supervisors to monitor performance and satisfaction via phone, email, or in-person meeting
    • provide coaching where appropriate
    • In collaboration with the Internship Systems Manager, own and drive the tracking, analyzing and reporting out on performance status across the internship portfolio (based on ongoing feedback, supervisor/intern survey responses, and other performance data) and highlight key trends for consideration
    • Act as an escalation point to support and resolve internship issues and coordinate response and necessary follow-up
    • Work in partnership with the Career Advisors to drive the development of performance improvement plans for interns, gathering feedback from interns and internship supervisors, and communicating closely with Academics
    • As appropriate and in partnership with Employer Relations Managers, oversee the planning and delivery of events designed to improve the supervisor experience and provide additional opportunities (i.e. Employer Partner Days/Roundtables); Uphold the 'high service, high support, high expectations' program model in interactions with all stakeholders
  • Internship Close-Out:
    • Ensure close communication with Career Advisors to make sure interns are factoring internship-to-hire conversion opportunities into their overall job search
    • Document employment records for intern conversions
    • Collaborate with team leads across departments and sites to ensure programmatic outcomes
  • Track and report metrics related to delivery of services and employment outcomes
  • Contribute content to the Career Bridge social media sites and department communications
  • Provide excellent customer service to prospective students, current students, alumni, co-workers, and community partners
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in Career Bridge, and throughout the university
  • Support and assist with the coordination, development and execution of on and off campus events, including professional development activities, employer recruiting events, and student engagement


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree strongly preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in university career services or higher education preferred, or within human resources, recruiting, or workforce development
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relationship management databases, such as eRecruiting, CSO, Handshake or Symplicity, Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated in-depth experience using LinkedIn and other professional social networking sites
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a team oriented individual that is able to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Ability and willingness to occasionally travel on behalf of National Louis University and the Career Bridge Department

The salary range of the grade for this position is $50,453 to $73,157 annually. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate. Offers are based on multiple factors permitted by law, including but not limited to: budgetary considerations, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, market considerations, tenure and standing with the university (applicable to current employees), and internal equity.
