About the Opportunity The Digital Marketing intern will help the team with planning, evaluating and managing marketing promotions in line with our strategy across multiple initiatives and platforms. This position supports the Digital Marketing team's focus to meet changing audience behaviors by creating rich digital content experiences across platforms, including pbsnc.org, the PBS App, and 3rd party platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
The intern will contribute to marketing plan strategy and execution for PBS NC's summer and fall initiatives, including PBS priorities, PBS NC productions, digital-first initiatives, programs from our Education division and more.
Additionally, the Digital Marketing intern will learn more about and contribute to the full marketing lifecycle of related projects, and learn more about best practices for digital marketing and social media platforms. The intern will have hands-on responsibilities in implementing and reporting on marketing campaigns.
This position is a hybrid work arrangement and will work at least 1 day per week at the Bryan Center in Research Triangle Park, NC. UNC System employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station. About the Team PBS North Carolina's Marketing Communications Division is responsible for the development and execution of marketing plans to drive brand awareness, engage audiences, drive fundraising and contributions, and advance the organization's mission. Minimum Education, Experience, and Skills High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Required Competencies *Recent college graduate from an accredited college or university (student must have graduated in Spring 2024 or after) OR *Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university AND *Be a full-time undergraduate student (at least 12 semester hours) OR *Be a graduate student (9 semester hours) *Experience in marketing, multimedia production, communications, digital production, or a related field. *Experience working with digital Content Management Systems (CMS). *Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills and previous experience with copyediting or proofing. *Prior experience with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite programs including, but not limited to, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, etc. *Experience handling multiple projects and priorities in a cross-functional team setting.
