Assist the development of projects for new products in the commercial, industrial, and military fire suppression systems markets.
- Assist in updating electrical schematics.
- Perform NFPA code reviews related to electronics.
- Assist with testing of electronic assemblies:
- Perform/help refine test plans for electronics.
- Recommend improvements for test procedures.
- Support Quality Assurance team with trouble shooting efforts.
- Support the engineering team with electrical tests as required (soldering, data acquisition, etc.).
- Assist in the creation of Altium part symbols, footprints and models for new components.
- Assist with programming of embedded systems.
- Use computer-assisted engineering design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
- Research and analyze electronic components (semiconductors, diodes, transistors, etc.) to verify the selected components meet requirements.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a BS or technical degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering
- Knowledge of embedded systems is preferred.
- Ability to use an oscilloscope.
- Experience soldering.
- Ability to program as needed (C or C++, Python, LABVIEW).
- Ability to read industry standards and develop relevant test plans (UL, FM, SAE, MIL, EN).
- Ability to construct breadboard prototypes and execute tests.
- Experience with RS485, CAN, Ethernet, and/or other communication protocols.
- Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor and/or Altium Designer is a plus.
- Must be able to work well with team members.
- Expected to effectively communicate design decisions or investigative findings.
