Job Title: Technology Director

Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)

Position Overview:

We are seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Cloud Infrastructure and Technology Operations Manager to lead and enhance our organization's IT ecosystem in support of critical business domains. This role requires a strategic mindset and deep technical expertise to manage multi-cloud environments, enable seamless system integrations, and support data-driven decision-making. At the intersection of technology and business, the individual will collaborate with stakeholders across these domains to deliver scalable, secure, and innovative solutions. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of operational excellence and visionary leadership to help drive the company's long-term growth and resilience. This is a multifaceted role that demands a proactive approach to integrating complex financial systems, optimizing data workflows, and implementing robust security frameworks. You will be entrusted with building the foundation for modernizing business-critical technologies while ensuring the reliability and scalability of IT operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage multi-cloud environments, including Azure and AWS, ensuring seamless integration, optimization, and performance across Finance systems.
  • Drive system integration efforts for key business platforms, including SAP Public Cloud (with Business Technology Platform) and Salesforce CRM, to enhance collaboration and data-sharing across the organization.
  • Partner with teams to enable secure, real-time access to data and analytics platforms, supporting advanced modeling, forecasting, and risk management activities.
  • Collaborate with the Finance domain to streamline workflows for financial systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop and manage the enterprise data strategy, incorporating data mesh architecture and Microsoft Fabric, to enable efficient data sharing and governance across critical domains.
  • Deploy and manage large language models (LLMs), including OpenAI, to support advanced analytics, automation, and innovation in underwriting, claims, and financial decision-making.
  • Implement security strategies for LLMs, addressing vulnerabilities and ensuring ethical, compliant use of generative AI tools.
  • Oversee IT security solutions, including Microsoft Defender and Cisco Umbrella, ensuring robust protection for sensitive financial and actuarial data.
  • Develop and manage robust backup strategies using tools like Veeam, and lead the organization's disaster recovery (DR) strategy, minimizing operational risks and ensuring continuity.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts and ensuring alignment with organizational goals, particularly for reinsurance-specific technologies.
  • Supervise end-user support, ensuring service excellence for end users.
  • Oversee secure software development and deployment processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives and secure coding practices.
  • Utilize technical programming skills (Python, R, PowerShell) to support automation, scripting, and advanced data analysis for actuarial and financial modeling.



Qualifications:

  • Proven experience managing multi-cloud environments, specifically Azure and AWS, including integration and optimization strategies relevant to finance domains.
  • Demonstrated expertise in integrating and managing SAP Public Cloud environments, including Business Technology Platform (BTP), with a focus on financial systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce CRM, including platform buildout, integrations, and optimization for customer and business partner relationship management.
  • Experience deploying and managing large language models (LLMs), including OpenAI, with a focus on secure and compliant use in financial and actuarial applications.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise data management, security principles, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Familiarity with tools and technologies supporting financial modeling workflows.
  • Proficiency in modern backup solutions like Veeam and network security tools such as Cisco Umbrella.
  • Technical proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and PowerShell, specifically for finance, actuarial, and investment-related use cases.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CSSLP are highly desirable.
  • Excellent vendor management and contract negotiation skills, with experience in reinsurance or financial services technology.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.



Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with data mesh architecture and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Familiarity with hybrid and multi-cloud networking and monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of secure software lifecycle practices.
  • Understanding of AI security challenges and best practices for deploying and managing LLMs in regulated environments.
