What do our Biology Project Managers do?

Functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for all lake management project planning and correspondence.
  • Obtain all permits necessary to perform management programs.
  • Attend professional client/town meetings.
  • Guide the team with clear project objectives and goals.
  • Keep track of project timelines and make sure that jobs are completed within the estimated duration.
  • Make sure equipment is maintained and well equipped to complete the jobs.
  • Responsible for editing and approving all reports and management programs before submittal.
  • Occasionally aid the specialists in the field when needed.
  • Team leader/go-to person for training and guidance on all QA/QC procedures and policies.
  • Active in recruiting/annual evaluation Process

What do you need?

  • High School Diploma
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology or equivalent field
  • 8+ years experience
  • Continuing education encouraged
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Obtained all state and federal licenses needed to perform role
  • Ability to swim
  • Ability to follow established procedures and practices
  • Commitment to all health and safety guidelines
  • Effective verbal and listening communication skills
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of lake management methodology and procedures.
  • In-depth knowledge of aquatic vegetation.
  • Aptitude in using various biological tools independently
  • Ability to trailer/drive a boat independently
  • Advanced GIS experience
  • Advanced experience in GPS software including Garmin and Trimble
  • Experience with point intercept and rake toss methodology
  • Knowledge of small motors
  • Strong leadership skills
  • The work requires strenuous physical exertion, and the employee may be required to drive, stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and crouch for extended periods of time, as well as see, talk, hear, and use hands and arms to grasp, handle, reach, and feel.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Available to work Monday-Friday and Saturdays as needed
  • Ability to obtain and maintain licenses/certificates as required by federal, state, and local regulations
  • Valid driver's license/clean driving record
