Job Summary:

Performs maintenance and repairs of building utilities equipment, and general building upkeep, specifically on HVAC systems or utilizing mechanical expertise. Locates and diagnoses failures, replaces defective components, and performs advanced troubleshooting using standard electronic and mechanical equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals, and verbal and/or written instructions. Maintains appropriate maintenance and repair logs. Use a variety of hand, power, and test tools and equipment. Execute preventative maintenance work orders. Estimate labor required and parts list for repairs. Work in multiple room environments including noisy, dusty, and GMP clean rooms. Requires heavy lifting, handling of chemicals, and general computer skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on facility equipment including, but not limited to, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, AHU systems, air compressors, water purification systems, refrigeration systems, etc.
  • Follow electrical and mechanical schematics, drawings, equipment manuals and safety procedures
  • Perform work in one or more maintenance trades including carpentry, electrical, plumbing and painting.
  • Respond in a timely manner to service requests
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently and independently, including timely communication and documentation of status updates, repair/installation issues and estimated completion time.
  • Diagnose problems and make repairs to existing equipment, apply troubleshooting methods, replace parts and run tests to ensure equipment functionality
  • Adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance if needed. Install new units or replace parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines.
  • Enter work performed into work order system
  • Assist Facilities Department with general building maintenance functions
  • Responsible for observing all Company, Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines.


Job Qualifications:

  • Highschool Diploma or GED Required, College education a plus
  • Trade license required (S-2) with 10-15 years of licensed experience
  • Strong mechanical / HVAC background with proven knowledge/experience of successful troubleshooting, repair, replacement and maintenance of HVAC equipment such as boilers, chillers, air handlers, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of HVAC systems, and their design
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Able to work on own as well as be a team player
  • Willing to work on-call necessary
  • Knowledge of cGMP procedures and/or experience working in a cGMP environment a plus




Pay Range: $44.23 - $66.34 per hour
