Manager, Lateral Associate Legal Recruiting
Steptoe LLP, a Washington, DC-based Am Law 100 firm, is actively seeking a Lateral Associate Legal Recruiting Manager. This position will lead the full lifecycle of recruitment for all non-partner attorneys and legal specialists for the firm's U.S. offices (Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Washington DC), to include candidate sourcing, interviewing, communications, onboarding, and orientation.
Essential Functions
  • Work with hiring committee and appropriate business services teams - including Talent, DEI, Human Resources, IT, Finance and Marketing - to ensure seamless recruiting process for lateral associates, of counsel hires, contract attorneys, staff attorneys and legal specialists
  • Responsible for leading lateral recruitment and identifying hiring needs for U.S. searches
  • Assist with attorneys and practice groups in drafting job descriptions
  • Manage advertisement of, and candidate sourcing and lifecycle of open positions
  • Build and/or maintain relationships with search firms
  • Source qualified candidates and coordinate logistics of the recruiting and interview process
  • Review candidate resumes, arrange candidate interview schedules, correspond with candidates throughout the recruitment and hiring process, ensuring required documentation is obtained, oversee candidate diligence process with internal stakeholders
  • Prepare and maintain external and internal communications, including new hire announcements.
  • Establish and maintain effective recruitment metrics, systems, processes, systems and tools
  • Collaborate with Professional Development and Training team on onboarding process and orientation for all non-partner attorneys and legal specialists
  • Partner with entire Talent Acquisition team and senior leaders to support DEI Initiatives, share best practices and deliver a seamless candidate experience
  • Keep up to date with market trends, current and pending employment laws and competitor recruiting policies
Non-Essential Functions

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 4+ years of related experience in Legal Recruiting, Talent Management, Professional Development, or Human Resources required
  • 1+ years' supervisory/managerial experience
  • At least 2 years' experience at an Am Law 100 / 200 law firm

The anticipated base salary for this position is $110,000 - $150,000. The actual base salary offered will be dependent upon the applicant's experience and qualifications, as well as other job-related factors, including but not limited to, relevant skills, education, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, geographic location.
