Position Summary |
The Supplies and Delivery Services Manager reports to the Director of Administrative Services and is responsible for managing mailroom operations and supplies purchasing and distribution within the University of Georgia Libraries. This position supervises at least 1 full time staff member and a team of student workers to ensure continuity of operations as it relates to deliveries, university regulation and federal postal laws, supplies and equipment purchasing, and inventory. The Libraries mailroom is a complex operation that conducts daily deliveries to 7 or more campus libraries, liaises with University Campus Mail and the U.S. Postal Service, and coordinates special delivery of library items off campus and internationally. |

- Knowledge of the United States postal laws, rules, and regulations;
- Knowledge of accounting and budgetary principles and practices;
- Ability to exercise independent judgment;
- Strong organizational ability including working under pressure and meeting deadlines;

- Successful supervision or mentorship of others;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

Manages and administers a $70,000 budget of Libraries supplies and materials purchasing by:
- Coordinating communication with Libraries employees regarding needed supplies
- Researching and identifying products/materials for purchase
- Monitoring Purchase Orders in UGAmart during their lifecycle: receiving/receipting, invoicing, payment and closing which includes communication with suppliers concerning issues such as delayed shipments and backorders and taking the appropriate action.
- Coordinating record keeping for orders, receipt, dissemination, and storage of items, as well as consumption, cost, stock levels, etc.
