Your Opportunity

We're seeking a Senior Linux Engineer with deep RHEL expertise and a passion for automation to join us in Austin, TX. You'll support our global fleet of virtualized and physical Linux systems - covering architecture, provisioning, troubleshooting, and decommissioning. You'll also help drive DevOps initiatives, enhance our use of Ansible/AWX, and contribute to containerized environments in Kubernetes.

As a key member of our L3 Engineering Team, you'll collaborate in a "follow the sun" support model, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security for our global enterprise of 4,000+ employees. You'll report to an IT Manager and play a pivotal role in planning, implementing, and optimizing our Linux infrastructure at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, configure, and maintain Red Hat-based environments (RHEL, Rocky), emphasizing automation (Ansible, AWX).
• Develop scripts and playbooks (Ansible YAML) to streamline system provisioning, patching, and configuration management.
• Implement security best practices aligned with frameworks like ISO 27001 or CIS.
• Work cross-functionally with global IT teams around the globe; guide L1/L2 engineers in troubleshooting, best practices, and process improvements.
• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of Linux systems, from initial design to decommission.
• Dive deep into performance bottlenecks, kernel tuning, and advanced storage/network configuration.
• Integrate Linux workloads with virtualization platforms, hyperscaler providers and container orchestration (Kubernetes).

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on Linux engineering experience in medium-to-large enterprise environments.
• Advanced knowledge of Red Hat (RHEL) and related distributions (CentOS, Rocky).
• Expertise in Ansible/AWX, with a strong background in scripting (Bash, Python) and automation frameworks (Ansible YAML).
• Experience with containerization (e.g., Kubernetes) and virtualization platforms.
• Familiarity with identity management (e.g., Red Hat IDM) and patch management solutions (e.g., Satellite) a plus.
• Solid grasp of ITIL-based service management and agile workflows (ServiceNow, Jira).
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with a knack for cross-team collaboration and mentoring.
