We are seeking an Off Road/ Forklift Mechanic for our customer, County Materials located in Marathon City, WI.

Job Duties:


  • Inspect forklifts and other heavy equipment regularly to identify mechanical, electrical, or structural problems.
  • Diagnose issues by conducting tests and utilizing diagnostic tools.
  • Perform repairs on forklifts, including replacing parts and adjusting components.
  • Complete preventive maintenance tasks such as lubrication and fluid checks.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure all repaired forklifts meet safety standards and regulations.
  • Respond promptly to service calls and troubleshoot problems efficiently.
  • Provide guidance and training to forklift operators on maintenance and safety procedures.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts and supplies.
  • Collaborate with team members to prioritize tasks and optimize workflow.


Work Environment


  • Work in indoor and outdoor weather conditions, including extreme hot or cold temperatures
  • Work near moving machinery and equipment - could include electrical hazards
  • Work in a noisy environment


Physical Requirements


  • Sitting
  • Carrying/Lifting 10 - 40 Pounds
  • Standing / Walking / Climbing
  • Squatting/Crouching/Kneeling/Bending
  • Pushing / Pulling / Reaching Above Shoulder


Experience and Qualifications:


  • 2+ years of experience as a mechanic working on forklifts, heavy equipment, or similar machinery.
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with electrical systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently.
  • Commitment to safety.
  • Physical stamina for lifting and working in various conditions.
  • Relevant certifications or previous experience in forklift maintenance.
